Day 2 Chengdu - Kangding - ZheduoMountain Pass - Xinduqiao - Yajiang Altitude: 500m-4,298m-2,600m | Distance: 400km,about 7 hours’ drive After breakfast, drive west from Chengdu towards Western Sichuan,passing through the world-famous "Rainy City", Ya'an. Take theYakang Expressway, cross the Erlang Mountain Tunnel, and arrive in Kangding,the capital of the Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, which is famouslymentioned in the "Kangding Love Song". After that, you will pass through Zheduo Mountain Pass, whichsits at an altitude of 4,298 meters. The name Zheduo Mountain derives from itssteep terrain and the unique winding road that features "nine bends andeighteen turns." Known as the "first pass of Kham", crossingZheduo Mountain marks the official entry into the Kham Tibetan region.Furthermore, the Zheduo Mountain Pass serves as the initial pass on theSichuan-Tibet Highway to reach an altitude exceeding 4,000 meters, signifyingthe transition from the Sichuan Basin and the Dadu River Valley to the westernplateau of Sichuan. Day 4 Cuopu Valley - MangkangCounty Altitude: 3,300m - 4,100m - 3,800m | Distance: 155km, about 4.5 hours’drive After breakfast, we setoff for Cuopu Valley, a paradise nestled along the G318 Sichuan-TibetHighway. This enchanting valley encapsulates the very essence of the TibetanPlateau's beauty, boasting snow-capped mountains, vast grasslands, lushforests, serene lakes, and sacred temples. Upon reaching the visitorcenter, we'll transfer to scenic area shuttle buses. Our first stop is YasoMonastery, a Nyingma sect Tibetan Buddhist monastery that stands out amidstthe verdant landscape with its vibrant red architecture. Next, we'll venture tothe Cuopu Hot Spring Group, renowned as the "Crown Jewel ofSichuan's Geothermal Resources." Within a 1.5-kilometer-long and300-meter-wide area, over 150 hot springs and geysers bubble forth, reachingtemperatures exceeding 85°C. First, you will pass through the main gateof Mangkang County and ascend along the road to cross the Lawa Mountain Pass,which stands at an elevation of 4,376 meters. Continuing on your journey, you will comeacross Dongda Mountain, located within the Zogang Line in Tibet. Recentmeasurements indicate that the actual elevation of Dongda Mountain Pass is5,130 meters, making it the highest pass on the South Sichuan-Tibet Highway.During the summer months, you'll be treated to the sight of lush green grassymeadows and herds of yaks, creating a truly picturesque landscape. (2) Traffic Jams: The entireroute of this tour is in the high-altitude region, mainly on mountain roads.Traffic jams caused by mudslides, landslides, rolling rocks, broken bridges, orother reasons during the rainy season are considered normal. Participantsshould be patient and bring extra food and clothing, and be prepared for anyemergencies. (3) Seating Arrangements: Thefirst seat on the left is for the driver, the first seat on the right is for thetour guide, and the other seats are for the participants. Please choose yourseat after boarding the vehicle. Please be understanding of each other duringlong-distance high-altitude travel. (4) Night Driving: In principle,we will avoid driving at night. However, due to the complex road and weatherconditions, there may be occasional instances of night driving. If participantsrefuse to continue driving at night and request to stay overnight, theaccommodation costs for that day will not be refunded. Participants will beresponsible for the new accommodation costs. If the tour needs to be extended,the participants will also be responsible for the related costs of the extendeditinerary. (5) Costs: In the event oftraffic jams, traffic controls, or other force Majeure circumstances that prevent the groupfrom reaching the pre-booked accommodation, the pre-booked accommodation willnot be refunded. Participants will be responsible for any additionalaccommodation costs incurred. The accommodation costs for the tour guide ordriver will be covered by us. 8. Regarding Shopping: (1) No Shopping Arrangements:There are no shopping arrangements on this route, and the tour guide or driverwill not make any shopping recommendations. (2) Bargaining and Purchases: Duringfree time, if you do not have a need to buy anything, do not bargain with thelocals or linger too long to watch them. If you decide to make a purchase,please be responsible for the quality of the product yourself. If you reach anagreement after bargaining, please complete the transaction. If you change yourmind and decide not to buy after bargaining, it is easy to cause trouble. Youwill be solely responsible for any conflicts or disputes that arise from this. (3) No Shopping Services: Thisroute does not offer "shopping services". Please do not ask the tourguide or driver to purchase any products for you during the tour or after thetour is completed. If you need to purchase something, please select andpurchase it yourself. 9. Regarding the Tour Guide: (1) Responsibilities of the Tour Guide:The responsibilities of a tour guide are different from those of a regularguide. The purpose is not to promote shopping or optional activities. The tourguide will arrange accommodation, coordinate meals, lead the way, coordinateand control the time spent visiting scenic spots, and coordinate and contactthe handling of various unexpected events for participants in times of crisis. (2) Not a Medical Professional:The tour guide is not a doctor and does not have medical qualifications. If youexperience any physical discomfort, it is recommended that you seek medicalattention nearby. Do not rely on the tour guide for treatment. 10. Regarding Communication: (1) Limited Signal: This routetravels through the Tibetan Plateau, and there may be no signal for extendedperiods in some high mountains and valleys. Please inform your family andfriends in advance that they may not be able to reach you by phone. There issignal at the accommodation places in the evenings, so you can call to reportyour safety. (2) Mobile Phone Signal: ChinaTelecom has the best signal, China Mobile has the second best signal, and ChinaUnicom has the worst signal. The same applies to the internet. (3) Intermittent WIFI: The WIFIat the accommodation is intermittent and may not always work. For participantswho need to use a computer for work along the way, it may not be possible tomeet your needs all the time. Please arrange your work in advance. 11. Regarding Insurance: (1) Accident Insurance: Thisroute provides travel accident insurance for participants, but does not includehealth insurance or property insurance. Please go to the hospital for a checkupbefore signing up to make sure you do not have any diseases that are unsuitablefor high-altitude activities. (2) Protecting Valuables: You areresponsible for protecting your valuables during the tour, especially whenseparated from the group. If you lose anything, you will be solely responsiblefor the loss. (3) Leaving Personal Belongings Unattended:If you lose your personal belongings due to your own negligence, you will needto handle the matter yourself. You will need to sign a "Tour WithdrawalAgreement". We will refund 80 RMBper person per day for unused entrance fees and accommodation fees. However,the already incurred accommodation, entrance fees, full vehicle costs, andinsurance fees will not be refunded. 12. Regarding Medical Supplies: (1) Medical Checkup: Please go toa qualified hospital for a comprehensive physical checkup before signing up tomake sure you do not have any diseases that will affect your high-altitudeactivities. The conditions in the Tibetan Plateau are backward, and the medicalconditions are very poor. If you have a sudden illness on the way, it will bevery difficult to get medical treatment. (2) Seek Medical Attention: Thetour guide, driver, hotel owner, and other staff members are not qualified toprovide medical treatment. Please do not rely on them for treatment. If youfeel unwell, please inform the staff and go to the nearest medical facility fortreatment. (3) No Medication Provided: We do not have medical qualifications and onlyprovides bottled oxygen on the bus. No medication is provided. Please prepareyour own medication in advance. 13. Force Majeure: (1) Non-fulfillment of Contract and ItineraryChanges: If "Da Mei G318" is unable to fulfill thecontract or the itinerary changes due to force Majeure factors beyond human control (such aslandslides, mudslides, damaged bridges, flight delays, national policies, war,epidemics, traffic control, traffic jams, etc.), "Da Mei G318" shallnot be liable for any compensation. (2) Increased Costs: Participantswill be responsible for any additional travel costs incurred as a result ofthis. (3) Reduced or Unused Costs: Ourcompany will refund participants for any reduced or unused costs on acase-by-case basis. 14. Regarding Photography: (1) Respect Local Customs and Regulations:When taking photos in Tibet, please respect local regulations and customs. Donot take photos at checkpoints, bridges, military control areas, privateresidences, temples, religious ceremonies, or other places where photography isprohibited. If you take photos forcibly, your camera may be confiscated or youmay face more serious consequences. You will be solely responsible for anyadverse consequences or impacts. (2) Fees for Photos of People and Animals:In most scenic spots in Tibet or near scenic spots, it is usually necessary topay a fee to take photos of Tibetans, Tibetan mastiffs, and yaks. It isrecommended that you do not take photos of these subjects, or that you pay thefee willingly. When taking portraits in pastoral areas, temples, or otherplaces, try to get the person's consent. If they refuse, please stop takingphotos immediately. (3) Weather and Other Factors:Whether or not you can get good photos during your trip depends on acombination of factors such as weather, lighting, and season. It is purely amatter of luck, and the tour group cannot extend the stay at a particularscenic spot just because you did not get the photos you wanted. If you havehigh photography requirements, it is recommended that you join a photographytour instead. 15. Toilets in Tibet: (1) Fees for Toilets: Except forgas stations and hotels, all toilets in Tibet charge a fee, ranging from 1 to 3yuan. When you encounter a pay toilet, take the initiative to pay the fee. (2) Using the Outdoors: In areaswithout toilets, you may use a clean and secluded place to relieve yourself,but you must avoid sacred places such as rivers, prayer flags, mani stones, andbodhi stupas. (3) Bring Your Own Cover: Ifthere is no shelter, please bring your own umbrella or other cover for privacy. 16. Regarding Bathing: (1) Acclimatization: It isrecommended that you do not bathe for the first 3 days after arriving at highaltitude. After 3 days, you should adjust your bathing schedule based on yourown physical condition to avoid catching a cold or aggravating altitudesickness, which could affect your entire trip. (2) Unstable Water Temperature:The water and electricity supply in Tibet is limited, and the water temperaturemay be unstable. Please test the water temperature with your hand beforebathing to prevent burns from hot water or colds from cold water. (3) Potential Water Shortages:Due to the limited water and electricity supply in Tibet, water shortages mayoccur during bathing. Therefore, please bathe quickly. If you have long hair,it is recommended that you wash your hair and body separately to avoid runningout of hot water or having the water cut off before you finish bathing. (4) Assumption of Risk: Pleasemake sure you can adapt to the harsh conditions of the Tibetan Plateau beforesigning up for the tour. The company does not accept any complaints related tobathing issues. 17. Regarding Cancellations: (1) Voluntary Cancellation: Forvoluntary cancellations, regardless of the location, the unused accommodationand entrance fees will be refunded. However, the vehicle costs, tour guidefees, and insurance fees will not be refunded. (2) Force Majeure Cancellations:If the tour cannot continue due to force majeure circumstances, allparticipants must reach a consensus and choose from one of three options: A. Change of Itinerary: If the newitinerary is similar in length and road conditions to the original itinerary,the cost will remain the same. If the new itinerary is different in length androad conditions, the difference in cost will be adjusted accordingly. B. Return on the Original Route: Thereturn on the original route will be calculated based on the actual expensesincurred. The excess or shortfall will be refunded or charged accordingly. Theexpenses include all vehicle costs, accommodation fees, meal fees, entrancefees, etc., incurred during the return trip. C. Complete the Tour Locally: The tourwill be completed locally according to the actual expenses incurred plus thereturn expenses for the tour guide and driver. The excess or shortfall will berefunded or charged accordingly. The refund standard refers to Section 2 ofArticle 18 "Refund Standard". 18. Refund Standard: (1) Individual Cancellation: Forindividual cancellations, only unused accommodation and entrance fees will berefunded. The accommodation fee is calculated at 80 RMB per person per day.Since the entrance fees are discounted tickets for travel agencies, thespecific fees are as follows:
- Litang (Letong Ancient Town· Qianhu Tibetan Village) entrance fee and sightseeing bus: 35 RMB/person
- Cuopu valley Scenic Area entrance fee: 50 RMB/person
- Midui Glacier entrance fee: 30 RMB/person
- Basomtso Lake entrance fee: 80 RMB/person
- Potala Palace entrance fee: 150 RMB/person
- Jokhang Temple entrance fee: 60 RMB/person
(2) Force Majeure Cancellations: Incase of force Majeure circumstances, ifthe entire group completes the tour locally, the following refund standardsapply for each day not completed: Day 1: Gathering in Chengdu (20% Loss Fee)
- Participants from all over the world gather in Chengdu.
- A 20% loss fee will be charged for any cancellations on this day.
Day 2: Chengdu - Kangding - Honghaizi/Duozhogou Pass- Xinduqiao - Yajiang (30% Loss Fee)
- Drive from Chengdu to Kangding, stopping at Honghaizi Lake and Duozuogou Pass along the way.
- Continue to Xinduqiao and Yajiang.
- A 30% loss fee will be charged for any cancellations on this day.
Day 3: Yajiang - 18 Bends of the Heavenly Road -Litang - Mao Ya Grassland - Sister Lakes - Cuopu ValleyEntrance/Scenic Area (40% Loss Fee)
- Drive along the 18 Bends of the Heavenly Road to Litang.
- Visit Litang's Letong Ancient Town and Maoergai Grassland.
- Continue to Sister Lakes and Cuopu Valley Scenic Area.
- A 40% loss fee will be charged for any cancellations on this day.
Day 4: Cuopu Valley Entrance/Scenic Area - Mangkang(50% Loss Fee)
- Explore Cuopu Valley Scenic Area.
- Drive to Mangkang.
- A 50% loss fee will be charged for any cancellations on this day.
Day 5: Mangkang - Dongda Mountain - Zuogong - 72 Bendsof the Heavenly Road - Basu (70% Loss Fee)
- Drive over Dongda Mountain to Zuogong.
- Continue along the 72 Bends of the Heavenly Road to Basu.
- A 70% loss fee will be charged for any cancellations on this day.
Day 6: Basu - Ranwu Lake - Midui Glacier - Bomi (80% Loss Fee)
- Drive to Ranwu Lake and Midui Glacier.
- Continue to Bomi.
- A 80% loss fee will be charged for any cancellations on this day.
Day 7: Bomi - Guxiang Lake - Lulang - Tibetan Village (90% LossFee)
- Visit Guxiang Lake and Lulang.
- Experience Tibetan culture in a traditional village.
- Drive over Segrila Pass to Lhasa.
- A 90% loss fee will be charged for any cancellations on this day.
Day 8: Lhasa (No Refunds)
- Explore Lhasa, including the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple.
- No refunds will be given for cancellations on this day.
Day 9: Lhasa (No Refunds)
- Continue exploring Lhasa, including Barkhor Street.
- No refunds will be given for cancellations on this day.
Day 10: Departure from Lhasa (No Refunds)
- Depart from Lhasa Gonggar International Airport.
- No refunds will be given for cancellations on this day.
